POETRY | · Participant will be penalized if the poem of his/her choice is not suitable for the age of the participant · No movement or gesture is allowed · No costumes |
DRAMATIZED POETRY | · The poem is brought to life with the aid of movement and gestures. · Movements must enhance the spoken word. · No costumes |
GROUP POETRY | · 3+ participants · Several poems with a central theme or one poet’s work may be combined. Performed by the whole group. · The poems must be linked via for example music |
DRAMATIZED GROUP POETRY | · Poem or poems with central theme with 3 – 6 participants. · Not a play. · Chosen poetry will appoint in which matter it can be dramatized. · Poems can be linked in any suitable manner (e.g. movement, music, interludes, sound effects etc.) · Simple (not full) costumes are allowed. · Pupils to participate in only ONE group. |
PROSE | · No movements or gestures. · Dialogue and storytelling parts must be present · Own choice |
DRAMATIZED PROSE | · Dialogue and storytelling must be present · May be characterized. · Written word is brought to life with the aid of movement, voice, expression and gestures. · No Costumes |
MONOLOGUE | · Participant remains one character. · Costume is worn. · Props may be used |
EXPERIMENTAL GROUP WORK | · This is a program presented by a group (5+) learners. It is not a play. Prose, Poetry and/or Improvisation can be used · Make use of an ongoing theme. · It is expected that parts of the work is presented by the whole group, not individual work. · A suggestion of costumes may be used · Sound, singing, music, dancing and props may be used. · A copy of the item must be presented to the adjudicator and can be emailed to the secretary 3 days prior to the day of participation. |
SCENE | · A dramatized performance (comic or dramatic) by two or more participants of an extract from a play. · A section of a play or an adaptation of a novel, or self-written play may be used. · Costumes, props and sound effects may be used if essential to the portrayal. |
